Blanco Experimental
Finally got in my hands a copy of an anthology comic i worked last year for some friends in Chile. It´s called Blanco Experimental, it´s a mix of different stories by well know comic artists in Chile, and it even has an intro by the only Alejandro Jodorowsky…pretty sweet! My story was a western short, i showed the cover a while ago here, and the sequential pages can be seen here. And this is what the book looks like, it came out really nice!

Clandestino
So, I finally decided to start showing some art and pages I´ve been working on lately. After finishing the pages of DUPPY´78 last year (some that I´ve shown here from the OGN I worked with writer Casey Seijas, that´s being colored by Daniel Warner, and will be published by COMX, at some point between 2011-2012 when the coloring and lettering are done). I began to restart the arc of CLANDESTINO (that story that briefly appeared in one of Zuda Comics monthly contests back in 2009) Among my day job and other stuff in-between I actually haven´t had enough time to dedicate myself 100% to CLANDESTINO. But little by little I´ve been able to layout some pages, work on some character designs and of course work on the script. I´m not sure yet if it´ll be a GN, or a 6-7 part miniseries, or if it will even be published, self published or web published, nothing clear eh? he-he. But I do know that I´m really excited to finish it no matter how. I feel that I really like the story (which has somehow changed form the original inception of CLANDESTINO) and I like the way the art is turning out. I´ll also try to update more frequently the blog with some WIP, and who knows maybe a publisher gets interested and wants to publish it. I´m currently inking page 17 of book 1, when I have these scanned and colored I´ll start uploading them. To start here goes the logo, together with the art I´ll be providing some brief concepts of the story in terms of characters and what it´s all about.
To the revolution!

Art show!
Last month I moved to Spain (my gf lives here) and I had a chance to show my stuff in a Bar here in Murcia (that’s were I am right now). So here are a couple of pics from the printing process to the final stuff. Hope you enjoy. And if you’re around the south of Spain, come over and have some beers with some of my art!

ECCC 2011
Emerald City Comic Con was a blast. Last weekend I had the chance to meet up with many people and many artists that I’ve been following for years. Brian Steelfreeze is an awesome person, he took a look at my portfolio, and spent almost an hour giving me advices and tips. Adam Hughes didn’t stop drawing commissions in the whole 3 days, but he always had a time to chat with the fans, and just watching him drawing paid off my 3 day tickets. Geoff Darrow wasn’t the most talkative man, but he did have a time to go through my pages, and just taking a look at his originals was mind blowing. Tim Sale was another busy man with commissions, as well as an incredible list of talented artists in the con. I really liked the vibe of ECCC it’s not a massive huge con, but big names come to it, and it gives you a better chance to talk to them. I made tons of contacts, which was my main goal for this con. It was my second con in the states (NYCC 2008 was the first) and i learned a lot more here in terms of portfolios, and my work. No idea when my next con will be, but looking forward to the future, and hopefully a different story will be told by then.
